San Filippo and Gregory Highlight WHAC Volleyball Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2024 women's volleyball season honors Thursday highlighted by Northwestern Ohio's Gianna San Filippo and Bailey Gregory. UNOH also put a program record nine players on the WHAC's All-Academic list.
San Filippo became the first Racer to earn First Team All-WHAC honors since 2019 after leading UNOH at the net in her first season with the program. She finished the year with team bests in kills (402), kills per set (2.89), hitting percentage (.269), solo blocks (27), block assists (165) total blocks (192), blocks per set (1.38), points (527.5) and points per set (3.8). Her block assists, total blocks and blocks per set are all single-season records and her 27 solo blocks is the program's most since 2016.
Bailey Gregory earned her first all-conference award of her career in her senior season landing Second Team honors. Gregory finished the year with 671 digs, the program's most since 2010 and third most in a single season. She amassed 1,532 digs and 168 service aces during her career, both third best on the all-time list. Gregory also was named as the team's representative on the Champions of Character team while landing on the the WHAC All-Academic team for the first time.
Taylor Reust earned her third All-Academic honor becoming just the fourth player to accomplish that feat. Savanna Reed and Anika Burke both picked up their second academic award joing first timers Aliyah Saylor, Madelyn Hampton, Paige Becker, Madison Harrod and Julia Brodman.
