LIMA, OH - After winning the first game, UNOH couldn't stay in front in the next three losing at home to Siena Heights 3-1 Wednesday night.
The Racers used a big 8-1 run in the middle of the first set to pull away from the Saints and hold on for a 25-22 win. Neither team had led by more than two points late into the set two but Siena Heights found the finishing touch putting up the final five points to win 25-19 and level the match 1-1. UNOH fell into a big hole to begin game three and, despite another big run where they outscored the Saints 8-2, they couldn't close the gap falling 25-20. It looked like the match would get a decisive fifth set with the Racers leading most of the game and holding the edge late, 21-19. However, once again it was Siena Heights who got hot at the end rattling off the final six points to steal the set 25-21 and win the match 3-1.
Aliyah Saylor paced the way for UNOH bagging 13 kills and seven digs while adding an assisted block for 13.5 points. Savanna Reed and Paige Hoodlebrink both logged a double-double in the match. Reed tallied a season high 16 digs with twelve assists while Hoodlebrink recorded 16 assists and 14 digs. Alli Lopez also notched double-digit digs for the third time in four matches picking up 14 on the night.
UNOH will make their annual trip to Grand Rapids this weekend to face (RV) Cornerstone on Saturday and (RV) Aquinas on Sunday.
