Volleyball Ends 2025 Season Against Rochester Christian
LIMA, OH - UNOH volleyball fell in straight sets to Rochester Christian Saturday afternoon in their final match of the 2025 campaign.
Thirteen different Racers took the floor led by Emilija Prolic in her final match at UNOH scoring nine points with seven kills, a solo block and two assisted blocks. She hit .353 in the match making just one error on 17 attacks.
Maggie Czachowski ended her career with the best match of her career putting down six kills followed by fellow senior Shamyria DuBose who finished with five while adding a solo block and a block assist.
The team's final senior, Savanna Reed ended with 17 assists and ten digs for her seventh double-double of the season and 32nd of her career.
Final Words from Coach Bonham: What a great finish to her UNOH career for Emilija Prolic! She had two great matches this weekend and led us in kills today while wearing her heart on her face. She fought through a lot of tears today and managed to put herself on top of our offense despite those emotions.
She was accompanied by Maggie Czachowski who also had a great finish to her career here. Both of these girls started with us in the spring and lacked some confidence. But, through continuous hard work and willingness to take chances, they both gained confidence and played with heart and passion today. They walked off the court feeling good about themselves. That is a victory in my book for those two. I'll take their hard-driven emotions today over any player who doesn't push for that next level every day of the week. I'm very proud of those two today.
Over the last few weeks we were tested often, but with certain players like [Shamyria DuBose] and [Riley Treece] stepping up and being not only vocal leaders but leaders by example, we continued to fight to the end. With the ups and downs that this season offered, with all the injuries, with all the heartache, with all the learning curves, this team never gave up! It would have been easy for some to quit, give up, or even walk away entirely but they didn't. We lost while still trying to win. And hopefully, moving forward, we can learn to minimize those mistakes and keep our girls fighting until the last point in each match next year.
We talked a lot about the 'silver lining' this season, but I do know one thing for sure; we never raised the white flag! For that, I am proud of this group and excited for the future.
