UNOH Runs Away From IU-East in 25-Point Road Win

RICHMOND, IN - UNOH women's basketball led for more than 35 of the 40 minutes on night two of the season pulling away from IU-East for an 86-61 win.

The Racers trailed for just under three minutes of the first quarter but held the Red Wolves to just 13 points taking control 20-13 after one and didn't trail again. After pushing their lead up to ten points by halftime, UNOH exploded for 26 points in the third and 23 in the fourth holding IU-East to just 34 in the entire second half as they pulled away for a 25-point victory.

Alysia Lawson led all scorers with 29 points shooting 12-22 (55%) from the field adding four steals, three assists and two rebounds to her line. Ameena Muhammad was the games second highest scorer finishing with 16 points on 6-13 shooting recording three reoubnds two steals two blocks and an assist. Jayci Allen fell one rebound short of a double-double putting up 12 points and grabbing nine boards. Alayha Allen matched for the team high with nine rebounds off the bench adding two more blocks to career tally giving her 57 over just 30 games played, two short of the program's all-time career record.

The Racers shot 47% in the game as a team holding IU-East to just 34% turning 22 turnovers into 27 points while giving up just 13 and nine.

UNOH will stay on the road their next time out making a trip north to face Grace Christian on Tuesday, November 5 at 5:30 PM.
