UNOH Women Defeat Madonna 83-64

LIMA, OH - UNOH women's basketball controlled the night from start to finish to take down Madonna for the second time this season, 83-64 for their fifth win in the last six games.

The Crusaders scored the first points of the game but UNOH answered with an Olivia Thompson three-pointer just 16 seconds later and never trailed again. The Racers scored 45 points in the first half holding Madonna to just 29 to lead by 16 at the break. UNOH continued to pull away, leading by as many as 24 points, as they held the Crusaders at bay and finished off their 17th win of the season, the program's most since 2013-14 and second most all-time (18).

Alysia Lawson led all scorers with 27 points shooting 9-20 (45%) from the field and 4-9 (44%) from outside adding three steals, three rebounds and an assist. Ameena Muhammad and Ana Montero Sanz both hit 5-10 in the game scoring twelve and eleven, respectively. Muhammad pulled down a team and season high eight rebounds with four steals, two assists and a block while Montero dished out four assists with three rebounds and a steal.

The Racers forced 21 turnovers while giving up just seven breaking out for 17 fastbreak points without giving up any.

UNOH will try to match the program wins record on Saturday when they travel to UM-Dearborn for a showdown with the Wolverines.
