History Made: UNOH Women Set Season Wins Record

SOUTHFIELD, MI - UNOH women's basketball got back on track after dropping two straight last week with a 68-49 win on the road at Lawrence Tech. The win pushes UNOH to 19-8 overall this season giving them the most wins in program history topping the previous mark set in the 2009-10 season. With the victory, the Racers are now 12-7 in conference play this season, the program's second most wins all-time.

UNOH put the game away early thanks to a 21-6 first quarter and never trailed pushing the lead up to 28 before halftime. The Racers hit the first two shots of the second half to make it a 32-point game and kept the cushion heading into the final frame up 62-32. Lawrence Tech managed to make the score respectable in garbage time, outscoring UNOH 17-6 over the final ten minutes, but it wasn't anything more than a dent as the Racers took care of business with a 19-point victory.

Only two Racers scored double-figures led for the 22nd time in 27 games by the WHAC's leading scorer Alysia Lawson. Lawson added to her single-season scoring record with a game high 27 points on 11-21 shooting grabbing six rebounds with two steals and a block. Olivia Thompson finished with 16, her third double-digit outing in the last four games, hitting 8-14 from the field with a season high seven rebounds while dishing out three assists with two steals and a block. Jayci Allen recorded a game high eleven boards and Ana Montero Sanz earned a game high five assists.

UNOH hit 47% from the field as a team holding the Blue Devils to just 28% while dominating down low 38-33 on the boards and 40-22 on points in the paint.

With one regular season game remaining, home court advantage for tournament play will be on the line Saturday afternoon with a trip to Siena Heights. The Racers could finish as high as fourth with a win or as low as sixth with a loss.
