GRAND RAPIDS, MI - UNOH women's basketball had a difficult start to the new year falling 71-54 at Cornerstone Saturday afternoon.
The Racers trailed for all but 34 seconds of the 40 minutes as the Golden Eagles controlled from start to finish. An eight point game after one turned into a 13-point deficit at halftime with Cornerstone pulling away. The third played tight but the game stayed double-digits throughout the entire second half handing UNOH their second consecutive loss for the first time this season.
Alysia Lawson led all scorers with 21 points shooting 8-19 from the field. Brooke Asher put up 15 and Olivia Thompson finished with twelve. Lori Huffman couldn't get her offense on track but she managed to pull down a game high eleven rebounds on the night.
UNOH will try to get back on track with a return home for two consecutive games. Cleary comes to town on Wednesday, January 7 followed by UM-Dearborn on Saturday.
