LANSING, MI - Three of four quarters were highly competitive Wednesday night between UNOH and Cleary, but a 17-3 Cougar advantage in the second proved to be the difference in the game as the Racers fell 77-59 on the road.
Cleary went up by eight early but UNOH finished the first quarter strong with a 10-1 run that gave them a 19-18 lead heading into the second. That momentum quickly dried up as the offense went cold and the Racers scored just three points over the next ten minutes heading into halftime down 35-22. Just five points separated the teams through the entire second half but UNOH could never close the first half gap.
Olivia Thompson led the team's scoring for a third straight game putting up 17 points on 6-13 shooting. Jordan Mueller bagged 14 for her third straight double-digit outing while Brooke Asher and Kayla Larimore chipped in eleven and ten, respectively. Asher added six assists and five rebounds with Larimore grabbing six boards. Lori Huffman led the team on the glass with nine rebounds in the game.
UNOH returns to The Garage for their next two games squaring off with Cornerstone on Saturday, February 14 followed by Lourdes on February 18.
