DEARBORN, MI - UNOH volleyball battled with UM-Dearborn Friday night trading sets back-and-forth until the Wolverines finished off game five for a 3-2 win over the Racers.
UM-Dearborn swiped the first set of the night 25-19 but UNOH responded in the second winning 25-14. The scores got tighter in games three and four and the teams traded against with the Wolverines winning the third 25-21 and the Racers taking the fourth 25-22. The decisive fifth set was tight halfway through but a 7-2 run to finish the night gave UMD the game 15-9 and the match 3-2.
Aliyah Saylor tallied an unusual kill/dig double-double earning twelve and twelve with three block assists and three service aces for 16.5 points. Savanna Reed also bagged a double-double with 20 assists and ten digs on the night. Shamyria DuBose and Emilija Prolic both put down eight kills while Lily Christensen marked a new career high with nine.
UNOH will be back in action Saturday with the second of three straight road matches against Madonna.
