Thompson Honored with Athlete of the Month Award

LIMA, OH - Each month, UNOH teams up with Mercy Health to award an Athlete of the Month based on their athletic and academic performance as well as being a positive representative for UNOH and UNOH Athletics. Each month's winner will be presented with a T-Shirt and a $25 gift certificate from Lock 16 Steakhouse. Nominees are presented by their respective coaches and voted on by the UNOH Athletic Training staff and Athletic Administration.

Olivia Thompson has been awarded the February edition after performing as a leader for the women's basketball program on and off the court. Thompson had a perfect 4.0 GPA and earned WHAC All-Academic Team honors while being named to the WHAC's Champions of Character team for the second consecutive season. Her performance on the court was equally as impressive as she shot 39% from the field, 35% from three and 92% from the charity stripe over the month. She also posted 28 rebounds, 18 assists, eleven steals and five blocks over nine games in the month of February. The sophomore capped the year with a strong post-season showing that helped her team win its first tournament game in program history. Thompson shot 9-19 (47%) from the field and a blistering 7-10 (70%) from three averaging 14.5 points over two games.
