Joyce Named Mercy Health Athlete of the Month

LIMA, OH - Each month, UNOH teams up with Mercy Health to award an Athlete of the Month based on their athletic and academic performance as well as being a positive representative for UNOH and UNOH Athletics. Each month's winner will be presented with a T-Shirt from Cappy's Sportswear and a $25 gift certificate from Lock 16 Steakhouse. Nominees are presented by their respective coaches and voted on by the UNOH Athletic Training staff and Athletic Administration.

For the month of March, baseball's Michael Joyce has been named Athlete of the Month. The first place Racers went 15-0 in March led by the nation's top pitcher. Joyce made four appearances during that stretch including two complete game shutouts against Cornerstone, 9-0, and a nine-inning, three-hit performance in a 2-0 win over Madonna.

Joyce has allowed just two earned runs over 36.2 innings of work for a NAIA-leading ERA of 0.49, and the only pitcher in the country holding under one. He has 38 strikeouts to just seven walks this season with a WHIP of .87
