Binyahya Wins Mercy Health Athlete of the Month

LIMA, OH - Each month, UNOH teams up with Mercy Health to award an Athlete of the Month based on their athletic and academic performance as well as being a positive representative for UNOH and UNOH Athletics. Each month's winner will be presented with a T-Shirt from Cappy's Sportswear and a $25 gift certificate from Lock 16 Steakhouse. Nominees are presented by their respective coaches and voted on by the UNOH Athletic Training staff and Athletic Administration.

For the month of April, Sharifah Binyahya of the women's golf team has been named the Athlete of the Month. Binyahya began the month at the Music City Classic where she shot rounds of 77, 77 and 78 to finish in a tie for 20th with a 232 in a stacked field of 73 golfers. She finished off the month with an individual medalist performance at the WHAC Women's Championship where she topped the field of 60 and helped her Racers lift their sixth-straight WHAC Title. Binyahya fired rounds of 73, 72 and 76 for a tournament total of 221, the program's second lowest 54-hole score behind the record she set herself two years ago.

Binyahya is shooting a team low 76.76 this season with two first-place finishes, four top fives and seven top tens in eight events.
