Otero Awarded Mercy Health Athlete of the Month
LIMA, OH - Each month, UNOH teams up with Mercy Health to award an Athlete of the Month based on their athletic and academic performance as well as being a positive representative for UNOH and UNOH Athletics. Each month's winner will be presented with a T-Shirt and a $25 gift certificate from Lock 16 Steakhouse. Nominees are presented by their respective coaches and voted on by the UNOH Athletic Training staff and Athletic Administration.
For the month of March, the Northwestern Ohio Athletic Department has selected baseball's Eliomar Otero who was instrumental to his team's perfect 17-0 record. Otero batted .484 over the month going 31-64 at the dish with a .781 slugging percentage. He doubled twice, tripled once, and hit five home runs over the 17 games played driving in 25 RBI and successfully stealing seven times. Otero also hit five sacrifice flies and one sac hit while walking five times.
He currently leads the team in hits (46), RBI (45), home runs (8) and season slugging percentage (.611).
